Transmission Electron Microscopy - TEM

This is a microscopy technique where a beam of electrons is transmitted through a sample, interacting with the sample as it passes through. An image is then formed of the interaction. TEM allows examination of materials at a significantly higher resolution and high magnification. It is used to examine dispersion of nanomaterials within polymer matrices.
